Why You Should Vote for John McCain, Vol. 3

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Okay, John McCain still has a long way to go before he bowls me over. I would love to see him come out in favor of the traditional marriage amendment in his home state of Arizona. I would also love to see him come out in support of the Federal Marriage Amendment. After what has happened in Massachusetts and California, that being two rogue state supreme courts and two governors illegally ordering same-sex marriage, we need the Federal Marriage Amendment.

It would be great to have the pro-family movement leaders such as Tony Perkins of Family Research Council, Don Wildmon of American Family Association, Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel, Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice, and other conservative Christian leaders speak out against what Mitt Romney did in Massachusetts and now what Arnold Schwarzenegger has done in California.

Notwithstanding this, we still have a battle for the US Supreme Court we must consider. A hat tip to one of my readers Joyce for sending the following email:

Today should wake everyone up.

The Supreme Court’s Heller decision today finally defended the 2nd Amendment…but it was only by a margin of ONE vote! It could easily have gone the other way…and our 2nd Amenement rights could have been lost. This is very scary!

The fact that they made 2 other terrible decisions recently: Guantanamo terrorists deserve American juris prudence, and men who viciously rape little children the death penalty is “cruel &unusual”. What???

As you can see…these partisan hacks are very dangerous. They threaten the Constitution that they were appointed to uphold! And if Obama is elected, there will be most likely be 2 appointments he will make in his term as President. That will swing the bench back to the left…instead of a 5/4 court, it will be a 4/5 court…or worse if one of the Conservatives decides to retire..or God forbid dies.

We must do WHATEVER we can to make sure Obama is never elected. And that means holding our noses and voting for McCain. I don’t like him any more than you do. He’s not ideal by any stretch, but at least he doesn’t want to “change” the nation into some Marxist fascist nightmare.

Joyce

Senator McCain it is high time you publicly let evangelicals know your thoughts on Mitt Romney and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s illegal orders for same-sex marriage certificates. Something tells me though that if Senator McCain believes either one of these states are in play then he will not do so. I even fear him putting Mitt Romney on the ticket.

Time will tell…

Obama Omens

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Sorry it’s been so long since I last posted here, with writing for college, columns, and morning devotions I’ve not had sufficient time to do this blog justice. I shall try harder and by the way if you’re not receiving my morning devotion go ahead and email me and I’ll be sure you get it each weekday morning.

So what’s the latest with the Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama? Now I’m using his middle name only because I’m told I can’t and that if I do I’m a racist. Garbage!
SmileyCentral.com

For the record, that is the first time I’ve ever done that and if I’m seeming a little rebellious, stay with me. It’s time to peel the teflon coating off of Senator Obama’s exterior and take a closer look at the man notwithstanding the shouts and threats of the liberal media machine. This circling the wagons approach to vetting a candidate by the very institution that is protected by the Constitution to do so must have attention called to it. So I want to share with you a number of articles out there doing the job the media elites are failing to do.

My column at The Talon blog this week is titled “Unfit for Command.” I know, not a very original title but it was used with intent. Senator Obama has warned he will not be swift-boated as was John Kerry. I abhor the fact that the brilliant book “Unfit for Command” and the great American Heroes that make up the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has turned into some type of pejorative.

Note to readers: if you feel the urge to castigate me for calling the book brilliant, if you have not read the book that means you do not have “anything intelligent to add to the conversation so do not pass up the opportunity to keep your mouth shut.” That brilliant quote comes from my last battalion commander before I retired now Colonel Eric Nelson, a fine cavalry officer. I told you I would quote you one day Sir!

There are a number of articles outside the mainstream media exposing the character, faith, person, and qualifications of Senator Obama. I wrote on the New Media Journal a couple of weeks ago on “The Deep Faith of Barack Obama.”

Lance Fairchok, a writing partner of mine, wrote last April on the American Thinker of “Another Obama Marxist.” Lance has also written some superb articles at NMJ:

Too Radical For America
Stage Managing the Manchurian Candidate

Another friend who is doing yeoman’s work on exposing Obama is Erik Rush; please visit his website “Full Contact Commentary” where you can sign up for email notifications of his latest articles. Erik has recently written on NMJ “Pond Scum for Obama” and at World Net Daily “Race Card Up His Sleeve”; both refreshingly blunt and truthful observations of the would-be president.

I know many conservatives bemoan Christians for having a litmus test on abortion but that very test is working against Obama. Catholic columnist Deal Hudson has written “pro-life Catholics should reject Barack Obama because of his pro-abortion positions. Hudson says Obama is so out of line with Catholic teaching on abortion that he can’t be supported for president.” Please read the whole story by Steven Ertelt at LifeNews.com.

For you Obama supporters who read this blog (I know you’re out there!) now that all the hoopla is over, the excitement of the primaries has moved to the drudgery and reality of a national campaign that has to be ran from the center, take notice what happens to your candidate. Compare his tone and his speeches to the overall public versus an adoring Democrat crowd. Go ahead and touch the merchandise to see if the paint is still wet and if not, scratch it. See what you find; you won’t have to dig down very deep.

This is not MTV or American Idol or a rock concert; this man wants to run our country even though he originally said he would not run for national office in four years. That’s just one of many lies this man has told.

Keep it tuned in here for more Obama Omens!

Tuesday Tidbits

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

I have somewhat of a hodge-podge here today. First, good news about the initial success of The Talon blog over at Eagles Up! This is from our editor:

I’ve got some feedback and some news for you…We have been doing good, evidently better than I guessed. If I understand correctly, just after The Talon went on line, web hits for Eagles Up took a sharp move upward, obviously attributed to our page. I’ve been told that we now earn a web-rating of 6 in comparison to Vets For Freedom with a 4 and Michelle Malkin with a 7. I don’t understand the rating system completely, but it sounds good. Since VFF are very good guys, I’d really like to see them catch up to us; but then I’d also like to see us catch Michelle…If we all continue to prosper, perhaps we can put some of the leftie sites under the dirt. Apparently several of us have scored some individual column successes with columns earning links at other established websites, not our own. That’s more success. You guys are good, and I’ve gotten some brownie points for selecting you. Thanks. The only bad news is the good news – we’ve proved we can do it, so we’re expected to keep doing it. Not really bad news, because I’m confident we can.

It was later revealed that we had actually received a web rating of 5 which is still great news for the Talon. If you are not reading it everyday you should really start; yours truly posts a column there every Thursday. You can use the link here or it is part of my blog roll.

Second is Mr. Hype, Mr. Hypocrisy, Mr. Hanging Chad himself, Vice President Gore. Check out this little nugget of truth the MSM is ignoring. Hat tip to Greg Allen of The Right Balance for this great piece of info. Make sure you come back here after reading it:

Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month

I only laugh to keep from crying and pulling my hair out.

Lastly I want to introduce you to a wonderful man name Bob Huff.

Bob Huff

Like me Bob is a Gold Star Dad; he lost his daughter Sam to an IED in Iraq.

Video Tribute to Sam

Unlike me, Bob is a talented musician and as a ministry he gives free copies of his CD to Gold Star families. Greg Allen is using some of Bob’s works for his bumper music. Bob’s music has touched me at so many levels. One, it is phenomenally good…it is all instrumental, very soothing and relaxing; two, it is so personal to me knowing that we are kindred spirits; and three, that Bob is doing this out the kindness of his heart. Please visit Bob’s website and buy his CD for you and for your friends.

Monday Morning Merriment

Monday, June 16th, 2008

My best friend Don sent me this little funny:

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President. The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle’.’

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was. The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle.’

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain. ‘You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dummy put him up there to begin with.’

Larry Elder Makes Me Laugh

Hat tip to Jackie for sending Larry Elder’s latest column. It is so hilarious I just had to publish it in full here. Enjoy!

Warming up to Obama’s message of hope and change

For Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, the stars certainly seem aligned.

Seventy percent of Americans consider the economy in a recession. Two-thirds consider the war in Iraq a bad idea. A new Gallup Poll shows Obama leading presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain 46 to 44 percent. And the ratings for “American Idol” fell 10 percent. Given all this, plus a swooning, pro-Obama media, what’s a Republican to do?

Guess it’s time to look on the bright side, and find something positive about the possibility of a President Barack Obama.

I called Margaret, a Republican friend who lives in Chicago. Do me a favor, I asked her, and attend a prayer service at St. Sabina — the church led by Father Michael Pfleger. YouTube star Pfleger, as a guest of Trinity United Church of Christ, called Sen. Hillary Clinton a white supremacist, resentful of the ascension of Barack Obama. Pfleger yelled that Clinton felt entitled because she felt, as he put it, “I’m white!” He also preached that any white person with a “401(k)” or a “trust fund” needs to surrender it — presumably to blacks — or consider themselves part of the problem. Rumor had it, I told Margaret, that Rev. Jeremiah Wright was expected to attend St. Sabina’s upcoming prayer service.

She agreed to go. Take a Bible with you, I suggested, so no one will think you’re a reporter. And should security refuse to let you in, scream, “I’m black!” Now, she’s white, but still …

At St. Sabina a security team did, indeed, stand in front of the church, warily eyeballing newcomers. They stopped Margaret, despite the Bible in hand. She was about to scream as security shooed her away, “I’m black! I’m black!” But, she admitted, she was afraid that they would think she was deranged and call the authorities.

“Mission aborted,” she dejectedly e-mailed me. But she did go back to the church after-hours, and sent an attachment of photos of her dog with the church in the background. Cute dog.

Don’t feel too bad, I told her, because I find myself warming up to Obama’s message of change and hope. To lift her spirits, I offered a few examples.

Obama rejects the Bush my-way-or-the-highway “cowboy” foreign policy. Obama repeatedly said he wishes to meet with enemy/thug leaders without preconditions. But wait!

He now says only if he decides to meet in the first place. And if he decides — to which he may not — he’ll do so without preconditions. And if he decides not to, his decision will have been made without preconditions, unless, of course, he decides to meet after all — but only without preconditions. And if he decides not to meet, he’ll make that decision without any preconditions, just as he would make the decision to meet without the precondition of no preconditions. But if he decides to meet, without preconditions, he’ll do so solely when, where and if he decides to — without preconditions.

That’s change.

Unlike President Bush, who “neglected” the Israeli/Palestinian peace process until the waning days of his administration, Obama intends to immediately get on it. Last week, he told America’s Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) — America’s leading pro-Israel lobby — that he supports a two-state solution, with Jerusalem as the sole, undivided capital of Israel. (The Bush administration, currently in negotiations with the Israelis and Palestinians, hasn’t taken a position on this thorny issue, preferring the parties to negotiate between themselves.) After Obama’s statement, the Palestinians immediately cried, “Foul!” and said there would be no discussions with that stipulation! Hamas, the Palestinian terror group, called him no different from Bush. Thus, with this demand, a President Obama threatens to derail talks from the very beginning. But wait!

The next day, Obama said that, well, “obviously” the issue of Jerusalem should be decided by the Israelis and Palestinians — adopting the same position as “cowboy” Bush.

That’s hope.

On deterring Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, Obama accused the Bush administration of “saber rattling.” Obama’s Web site calls for aggressive diplomacy, but mentions nothing about a military option. But wait!

He told AIPAC, “Let there be no doubt: I will always keep the threat of military action on the table to defend our security and our ally Israel.”

What about Iran’s Revolutionary Guard? When Sen. Clinton voted to declare the Revolutionary Guard a terror organization, Obama criticized her, and deemed the vote irresponsibly militant. But wait!

He told AIPAC that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is, indeed, a terror organization. So why did he vote otherwise, and attack Clinton? Well, said Obama at the time, it was an unnecessarily belligerent move. But apparently, now they are terrorists because, well, it isn’t as belligerent to say so today as it was to say so yesterday.

That’s more hope and more change. So, I told Margaret, here’s hoping you find this hopeful. If not, I’ll change it.

Is Obama Terrorist Connected?

Hey, don’t get mad at me! That is an unanswered question that a Tennessee Democrat has. Now this man is being touted as a conservative blogger but he is in fact a Tennessee Democrat.

Impeach the Black-Robed Radicals

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Today the US Supreme Court delivered a personal blow to my family and a fatal blow to our nation’s Constitution. In a 5-4 decision, five black-robed radicals did exactly what my precious late son feared. Here’s what I wrote Mark Levin a few minutes ago:

Today the US Supreme Court did what my son and thousands of our brave warriors feared; they declared our enemy Americans. Eddie told me not too long before he was killed that because of the GITMO issue and the last SCOTUS decision about it, that he and his comrades hoped the enemy didn’t surrender. They wanted a fight to the death because they knew if they took them captive and couldn’t turn them over to Iraqis then they might as well give them American passports.

Article six of our Constitution states:

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

Today that oath was violated by Justices Steven Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Anthony Kennedy, John Paul Stevens, and David Souter and what they did is an impeachable offense.

Article 3, Section 1 states:

The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behavior, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensation which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.

What these five radicals did today was not only bad behavior; it was dangerous behavior. As Justice Scalia wrote in dissent about today’s decision:

“It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed.”

Articles of impeachment are brought by the House of Representatives:

“…shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.” Article 1, Section 2

The impeachment trial is held in the Senate:

“The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.” Article 1, Section 3

I am asking everyone to call their US Representative and two Senators and tell them you expect these five justices to be impeached for endangering our country. Below is the US Capitol switchboard number and you will have to make three separate phone calls and please remember to be polite but forceful:

(202) 224-3121

I’m going to further work on organizing a national petition to bring articles of impeachment and please do all you can to let the elected officials in Washington D.C. how upset we are.

Rezko and Pfleger and Wright, Oh My!

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Yesterday in my article “The Deep Faith of Barack Obama” I wrote:

When asked if he had people in his life he looked to for guidance, Senator Obama responded:

Well, my pastor is certainly someone who I have an enormous amount of respect for.
I have a number of friends who are ministers. Reverend Meeks is a close friend and colleague of mine in the state Senate. Father Michael Pfleger is a dear friend and somebody I interact with closely.

Add on to Senator Obama’s list his dear friend convicted felon Tony Rezko and his associate, domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, and we have a pattern here. And if it is true that Barack Obama was completely fooled and surprised by the behavior of these four men, three of whom he says “this is not the man I knew”, then that leads to a very important question.

How are we to trust this man to sit across the negotiating table with the likes of Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Syria’s Bashar al-Assad, North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il, or Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez? Senator Obama has already stated that he would initiate “tough negotiations” with these four countries and yet he is unable to know the hearts and minds of three close friends and one political associate?

When Iran eventually gets the nuclear bomb, will President Obama state this was not the man I negotiated with? When Syria completely invades Lebanon through the help of Hezbollah, will President Obama say this was not the man I negotiated with? And what about North Korea and Venezuela; will President Obama’s only excuse for the betrayal of our enemies be these were not the men with whom he negotiated?

Today we had Jim Johnson from the Obama camp resign from his campaign. Now this is the man Senator Obama picked to vet the Vice Presidential candidates. Again this leads me to another question:

WHO IS VETTING THE VETTERS?!!!!!

SmileyCentral.com

We have Senator Obama slamming Countrywide Mortgage for goughing customers and taking advantage of vulnerable homeowners and he has one of the weasels who benefited from Countrywide, and a Washington insider, vetting the Vice President possibilities.

So much for real change, huh Senator?

Folks, this man’s ability to judge human character is stunningly inept.

Just Thinkin’ Out Loud

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Hillary’s speech tonight was no where near a concession speech. Why is that? Senator Obama came out, and she knew he would, claiming to be the Democratic nominee. So why no congratulatory note from Hillary?

I also find it intriguing that she’s openly allowing reports of her phone interview where she said she would consider the VP slot. And it almost seemed deliberate that her memo to staffers about wrapping up campaign offices and submitting expense reports was released, especially it reaching headline status on Drudge. Matt Drudge is a coveted news source and although liberals openly hate the Drudge Report, politicians acknowledge its influence and folks of all political stripes work hard to nuture a relationship with the blog revolutionary.

Here’s what has me thinkin’ out loud. I have been hearing rumors for the past few days that there is a bombshell about to come out against Obama. Some rumors have it that Hannity is holding it; in fact Sean has been making light of it on his radio program. Rumors are rumors, especially during a campaign season, but the timing of this one and in light of Hillary’s non-concession speech…makes me wonder. And this video makes me say “Hmmmm…”

You may be saying, as did my friend, but Dave Obama has already wrapped up the nomination. No, he has enough committed super delegates but they can change their mind even on the day of the convention. If this “shoe drops” on Michelle Obama the super delegates can change their mind. And what has the Clinton War Machine fingerprints all over it is the fact that Bob Beckel is being lead to believe it’s coming from Republicans.

Speaking of Republicans, who was the genius that came up with the idea of John McCain giving a speech on the night of Obama’s victory speech? You know just when my disdain for Bill Kristol seems to hit rock bottom, I hear him admit that he was given inside information about this speech two weeks ago and he thought it was a good idea. He admits having watched the speech that it didn’t work. Really? Seriously?

SmileyCentral.com

You put up “Hey the teleprompter is moving too fast” McCain against “Let me read the phone book and cast a spell on the crowd” Obama and you don’t think McCain’s speech worked. Mr. Kristol has been giving me the impression that he wants to destroy the Reagan Conservative movement and I gotta tell you Bill, the gem of advice you gave the McCain campaign is gasoline on the fire.

Here’s the most delusional part; the intent was to take some of the luster off of Obama’s night. Yep, that’ll work real good for the next few days as they play soundbites of the two speeches and we’ll see who shines.

Hey McCain campaign! I’m running a series of posts here called “Why You Should Vote for John McCain” and you’re making my job real tough.

SmileyCentral.com

Stay tuned, thanks to fellow blogger Larwyn Greer, I am analyzing an interview done by Senator Obama back in 2004 where he reveals the depth of his Christianity. You are going to be surprised at my findings. I intend to put it in an article and I’ll let you know where it ends up being published.

On Mark Levin Again

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

I wrote an article a week and a half ago titled “Olbermann Overbites” for the Talon blog and it was inspired by a conversation I had with Mark Levin on his radio show. Below is the segment:
