Hi Dave- I read the article earlier today about McCain. Now, I was raised Anglican (Canada) and I am now a Southern Baptist (have been for over 10 years). I have nothing against my former denomination- except all the liberalism seeping in- but when I changed denominations, I had the overwhelming desire- not because I HAD to, but I WANTED so much to- be Baptized. My Parents- being the good Anglicans they are, reminded me that I was christened(sprinkled) as baby- but I told them that although I appreciate that they dedicated me that way- I wanted to show a public profession of my choice- as it was not my choice as a baby. I wanted to make that public commitment to Jesus. In no way did I want to do this just to join a church. I didn’t do it to further my spirituality (whatever that means). Now, I know that I still do so many things that are wrong- I’m a work in progress- but I know that the Holy Spririt was present at that time- as He is helping me now. I do believe that John McCain can not truely be a MEMBER because members have to be Baptized. I agree that we could expect something like this from the Dems- but I wouldn’t be swayed to vote for McCain just because of this claim. As for Church Executive Mag - God Bless and I;’m sure you’ll get a great review! And- as for the Values voter debate tonight that McBaptist didn”t attend- nor the other front runners, I wanted so badly to see or even just hear the debate tonight- but my silly computer is too slow even for the audio only feed! This is pathetic- but I hope I can find lots of news on how it went tomorrow! God Bless you Dave! Thank you!
