It's a good article, and obviously well thought out- and JBgives reasons to back everything up. I don't really like John McCain for a few reasons- but I believe this country coulddo worse than him- like the other two. I think we'd all be in a heap of trouble if the Conservatives stay home or vote otehr than McCain. Unless something changes between now and November, I hope people will dig a little more and give more thana passingglance at McCain. That and work hard in individual house and senate campaigns. Thanks Dave- You always have useful information and well thought out opinions! God Bless and have a wonderful week!

I think I would have lower standards and be willing to vote for McCain if Fred Thompson hadn't demonstrated for me true honesty in a politician. I don't trust McCain, just as I didn't trust Romney, even if he had a 100% conservative record. He still lies and changes his tune in the blink of an eye. I don't want to irritate anybody by starting on numerous specifics, other than that he's knowingly and willingly violated the law by withdrawing from "campaign finance" without the FEC's permission. And that foreign policy speech he gave in California recently sounded more like a humanistic, progressive speech than one in favor of a traditional America. I felt sick about it.

I think we got McCain as our "presumptive nominee" because the MSM and financial moguls propped him up, and the primaries welcomed too broad of a base. The media's glamour and obsession with polls made him into a star, a fad for a long enough time to give him the nomination.

Anyway, I know why this is such a hot topic, and I don't think any of us likes it. This is a matter of individual conviction for us all. It does sadden me greatly to see a lot of name calling on the conservative forums, added to the bickering. I like this place because there isn't such name-calling :) .
