I admire Jindal a lot. But I do not think this is, or should be, his time. He has only jsut become governor of Louisiana; they still need him there - they need him real bad. Also, he needs more experience. Do not rush the process. Let him grow and ripen, and then he will be magnificent. We will still need good conservatives in twelve to even twenty years’ time.
Tim Pawlenty has proven conservative - by Minnesota standards - but that is a low hurdle. Friends still living there talk about a number of disappointments. He, too needs more experience, maybe even more proving. Some fools are suggesting Condi Rice - an affirmative action idea if ever was one. A nice lady, but she has proven incapable of controlling either the NSC or State. How will she handle a whole executive branch? Petraeus is otherwise occupied. I need to think more about Sanford, but know very little yet.

I agree with Donna’s concerns; Charlie Crist isn’t hanging around McCain because he believes in his cause (although they are two peas in a pod). Even if he doesn’t get the Veep position, he might get the nod for Attorney General. Either way Crist could use it for what he covets most; the White House.

Jindal is indeed fantastic. Rush did an amazing interview with Jindal in the Dec 2007 Limbaugh Letter.

One of the more overlooked options is Michael Steele. Here’s a guy who would literally dismantle the race issue. He would also do wonders to continuing the inroads we have made as Conservatives to the Black community.

P.S. I think Bobby Jindal would be a great choice and would set him up for Pres after McCain leaves office (if he wins that is). He appears to be a TRUE conservative, the like of Reagan.

I am glad you mentioned Charlie Davo. I had a discussion that turned into a lunch bet with Donna this morning that McCain would pick Charlie Crist. It seemd that at every Primary that McCain won there was Chucky boy in the background with that “pick me, pick me” smile. If Crist is chosen, it would be a disaster for the country! Why? Well for your readers who do not know Charlie is a liberal at heart and is rumored to have skeletons in his closet. My take? BAD CHOICE!
