Always enjoy your commentary. There is something about Gov Huckabee that just doesn’t ring true. Not sure what it is exactly, but I feel some discomfort with him. When a “man of God” starts to dance with the word of God and makes statements that try to distance himself from positions that must be taken, it shows me that he isn’t as honest or forthcoming as we should expect. In our nation today, a true man of God running for office who wouldn’t compromise the truth by telling the nation that unless it repented of it’s individual and corporate sin and rebellion against God, be born again and walk with God in newness of life and cleanness, and put away their sinfullness, and that unless they did these things would be lost for eternity under chanis of darkness, would never, could never be elected President. The Liberals, secular humanists, most Democrats, the Vatican and the World council of church’s would do everything in their power to destroy him as would the average voter who would be completely offended by these words. If Gov Huckabee thinks his presidency could steer America to the saviour and save it from the judgment to come, me thinks he is sadly mistaken. Not that God isn’t able. But as Abraham said to the man in Hades, “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” (Luke 16:31)
Not sure if Gov Huckabee is a reconstrucitonist, which might reveal his reasons for running. The only one’s I would even consider voting for today are Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo (neither of which have a chance) or Fred Thompson, who seem’s to be waking up to the issues. Regards Lou
