Miss Rice (who I normally respect, except when she's trying to get Israel to give up it's territory) is showing us that she really isn't up to the job. To ask counsel of two losers in important international security measures show's how our pols have hit near rock bottom in their search for answers to matters that only the heavenly father can deal with. As those who belong to Christ are realizing more and more, we dare not put our trust in man or in chariots or in our worldly wisdom. The old testament is littered with the ghosts of Kings and prophets and nations who came to their end because they trusted not in the God of Abraham or sought his counsel. America is on the road to ruin and following the path to destruction. It pains me deeply when instead of turning to the God of all creation and knowledge, power and might, we turn to the feeble know nothings of this present world. I trust that thru it all, God is on His throne and has everything in His hands. He's allowing man to play out the end times scenario so that we will be shown up as the puny little beings we are when we trust in ourselves. How many times did Israel make the same mistakes in ages past? Turning to idols, turning to human kings and leaders? Leaning on the flesh and fantasy and whims of the mind. I don't get as riled as I used to since I seek to constantly remember that this will all play itself out and God will be glorified and honored in the end. Both Carter and Clinton ( and Gore and both Bush's) and most of the presidential candidates are making noises hoping to lead us to believe that they are truly christians. I have some very deep impressions about most of them and I don't want to ruin your dinner with what I could say. Let me quote something I heard someone say once: "just say saying so, don't make it so." Hope your well and talk to you soon. Lou

Oh Dave - well said! I guess Pres. Bush didn't learn after he asked Clinton to help out with Tsunami aid. I know that Christians (even though I have to question that too when he said everyone prays to the same god), are supposed to turn the other cheek and all that, but this is rediculous. I've been reading from the old Testament lately, and I do believe that this Nation is going to be in real trouble if we don't smarten up. Giving away half of Israel- the most important part, is Not going to help things. It's amazing the way people are so blind- or worse- so stupid. Excellent commentary Dave- Thank you!
