My Name is Tina. Through out my many talks with Eddie to inclued the one on sept.17, 2007. Eddie just wanted all of us to support the mission until it was done which it is not yet done. Please let s keep his words alive for him but not cause more wars here in the USA. Eddie's life was great and I am very proud of him. As his mother i ask that you all remember what he stood ,wrote, lived, and even died for. Eddie wanted to finish the job and for us to support him and the rest of our soldiers . Bob, my friend, I always admire your guts and grit as you face the ememy and attack them with your letters to the editors and your love for our country demonstrated in your songs and poems. My family sleeps safely only because of brave young men and women like him. I heard Mark Levin read his letter on Sept 24th. I have moved from the NYC area to Charlotte, NC and I send a lot of political stuff to our great drive time host, Jeff Katz, at WBT. Jeff read the letter on the air the next day, credited my hearing Mark Levin reading it, amd asked people to give to Eddie's favorite charity. The calls were tremendous. he shocked the audience by not revealing the loss of your son until the end of the hour. People who were asked "would you write the sergeant?" were asked to please give to the charity. I called Jeff before his show on the 25th as I was in the Charlotte-Douglas airport and was appalled by what happened. I thanked a very pretty, young blonde girl who was surprisingly in uniform. She could have been catching any guys in bars and living a life that most teenagers lead as they enter their "free years". But instead she had decided to serve our country. I'm not shy and I thanked her very loudly and shook her hand. She was quite humble, as has been every serviceman I have had the please to hve met. As we waited 12-15 minutes to get through security as the roped lines went back and forth, not one other person thanked her. Then down at the gate, a young man in uniform sat and I thanked him also as it is MY privlidge to be able to thank anyone in uniform. Again, no one else said a word. Coming back from my trip via JFK Airport, I saw two other uniformed young men and the exact same thing happened. I was stunned and considered yelling out "How many of you here support this young man" as I was mad when no one who saw and heard me said to themselves "I should be thanking him too". Might I respectfully suggest that if someone lives 15-30 minutes from an airpoirt, see if they have a USO and volunteer, or just ride out to the airport every now and then and look for these brave souls and thank them. Your son spoke with a wisdom beyond his years. God bless him for saying what had to be stated and may your endeavors help to save our very vulnerable nation as well as give testament to the life he led.
